12 Sep 2014 Record-breaking Enrollment for Fall 2014
The 12th class day is an important one as it is the day enrollment numbers and a variety of other figures are finalized. For Texas A&M University-Commerce it is a record-breaking day with several metrics reaching their highest levels in the university’s 125-year history.
12,321 students are enrolled for Fall 2014, the highest enrollment in history, which comprises a headcount increase of 4.46% and a credit hours increase of 2.10%. With the increase in student housing on campus, the number of resident students has grown to an all-time high of 2,238.
“Our record-breaking enrollment this fall is a wonderful demonstration of the importance of our mission: to change the face of a region through education,” said President Dan R. Jones. “I truly appreciate the dedication and hard work of our faculty and staff who strive every day to equip our students for success.”
- 15% increase in new freshmen
- 15% increase in new transfers
- 90% increase in new Hispanic undergraduates
- 16% increase in new undergraduate military and veterans
- 2.07% increase in first-time, full-time freshmen student retention from 66.87% to 68.26%
