A&M-Commerce Unveils $1 Million Scholarship Program

COMMERCE, Texas — Texas A&M University-Commerce is putting more than $1 million back in the pockets of its students this spring thanks to the Money4Me scholarship program.

“We understand that the current economic state is making it difficult for students to attend school and finish their degrees,” said Dr. Mary Hendrix, interim provost and vice president of academic and student affairs at A&M-Commerce. “We hope the Money4Me program will bridge that financial gap for students, making it easier for them to get the education they desire.”

The scholarship money is provided through state incentive funding, and is available for new transfer and graduate students, current students, A&M-Commerce employees, and adults ages 65 and older.

In addition to DCCCD Richland College and Eastfield College that were visited in November, Money4Me team members will be visiting the following area community colleges from Dec.1-Dec. 9 to give away scholarships and provide information on admissions, advising, registration and financial aid:

* Collin College – Central Park Campus, McKinney, 2200 East University (Hwy. 380), McKinney, Texas 75070, Dec. 1, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

* Collin College – Spring Creek Campus, Plano, 2800 East Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas 75074, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

* Grayson County College, Main Campus, 6101 Grayson Drive (Hwy. 691), Denison, TX 75020, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
*
* Paris Junior College, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas 75460, Dec. 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
*
* Trinity Valley Community College Henderson County Campus, 100 Cardinal Drive, Athens, Texas 75751, Dec. 4, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
*
* Trinity Valley Community College – Kaufman County Campus, 1200 East Highway 20, Terrell, Texas 75160, Dec. 4, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

* Navarro College, Main Campus/Corsicana, 3200 West 7th Avenue, Corsicana, Texas, 75110, Dec. 9, 9 a.m. to noon.

* Navarro College, Midlothian Campus, 899 Mt. Zion Road, Midlothian, Dec. 9, 1 to 4 p.m.

Students who cannot attend the above sessions can also visit one of the A&M-Commerce campuses in Mesquite, Corsicana, Midlothian, or Commerce.
