A&M-Commerce Takes 18 Pathway Awards

At the recent Texas A&M University System 13th Annual Pathways Research Symposium hosted by Prairie View A&M University, Texas A&M University-Commerce took home 18 awards: 15 in specific disciplines and three for placement overall. Participants included students from all 11 universities within the system with nearly 900 students, faculty and staff in attendance.

A&M-Commerce was well represented as distinguished overall winners in all three levels with one student placing first in undergraduate oral presentation, one taking first at the master’s level for poster presentation, and another taking third in the doctoral poster presentation category.

Distinguished Overall Winners from A&M-Commerce included:

  • First place winner, Seth Fernandez for Undergraduate Oral Presentation
  • First place winner, Jacob McCabe for Master’s Poster Presentation
  • Third place winner, Taelah Wooten for Doctoral Poster Presentation

  • First place winner, Monique Wilkins for Oral Presentation about Education
  • First place winner, Nicole Humphries for Poster Presentation on Environmental Sciences
  • Second place winner, Ever Rodriguez for Oral Presentation about Environmental Sciences
  • First place winner, Seth Fernandez for Oral Presentation about Physical Sciences

Discipline Winners for Master’s included:

  • First place winner, Ademola Olukanni for Poster Presentation on Business
  • Second place winner, Hovhannes Mnatsakanyan for Poster Presentation on Business
  • First place winner, Rochana Kaushik for Oral Presentation about Business
  • Second place winner, Olatundun Modile for Oral Presentation about Business
  • First place winner (tied), Jerican Jackson for Oral Presentation about Education
  • First place winner, Jacob McCabe for Poster Presentation on Physical Sciences
  • Second place winner, Sulihat Mudasiru for Poster Presentation on Physical Sciences
  • First place winner, Miriam Akoto for Oral Presentation about Social Sciences

  • First place winner, Jerican Jackson for Oral Presentation about Education
  • Second place winner, Natalia Assis for Oral Presentation about Education

Winners were recognized at an awards ceremony held on Nov. 4. All winners were awarded certificates, and the traveling trophy this year went to Texas A&M University Kingsville for being the institution bringing the most symposium participants.

The Pathways Student Research Symposium provides undergraduate and graduate students with an opportunity to present their research findings across multiple academic disciplines in either poster or oral format. The symposium also gives students the opportunity to discuss their research with faculty, judges and their fellow participants.
